AMBASSADOR-DESIGNATE OF THE KINGDOM OF BHUTAN
TO CANADA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS
Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Bhutan to Canada, Kunzang C. Namgyel presented her credentials to The Governor General of Canada, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston on the morning of Monday, 1st June 2015 in Ottawa.
The credentials ceremony was held at the Rideau Hall, the official residence of The Governor General of Canada.
Ambassador Kunzang C. Namgyel presented her credentials along with five Ambassador-Designates of Republic of Korea, Angola, Venezuela, Paraguay and Senegal. Read more

Therefore, the interested applicants are invited to apply for the same. The applications may be directly submitted to the Desk Officer, Asia & the Pacific Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thimphu routed through the respective agencies.
At the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Maithripali Sirisena, Hon’ble President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay paid an official visit to Sri Lanka from 9th to 12th April 2015. International Day of Happiness, 20th March 2015 observed at Rangsit University
Rangsit university in collaboration with UN organisations in Bangkok, International Research Associates for Happy Societies (IRAH) and Royal Bhutanese Embassy, Bangkok organised one day International Forum on “Sustainable Development and Sustainanble Happiness”. The forum was organized to observe the International Day of Happiness and to initiate a discourse on how happiness can be adapted in Sustainable Development Goals. Kutshab accompanied by Minister and Minister Counsellor attended the forum. The vice president of Rangsit University Dr. Chitriya Pinthong presided over the opening session. Read more
Leading RGoB’s delegation to the Third United Nations World Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction (14-18 March, Sendai), Lyonpo Damcho Dorji, Minister of Home and Cultural Affairs during the Plenary session (16 March) highlighted the vulnerabilities, priorities, achievements, and the challenges faced by Bhutan in the field of disaster risk reduction. Lyonpo reiterated that disasters, exacerbated by climate change, significantly impede progress of the developing countries, towards sustainable development and poverty reduction. He also encouraged greater commitment from the international community towards the implementation of the post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction by strengthening the means of implementation with sustainable, adequate and predictable provision of finance, technology transfer and capacity building.Read More
