Celebration of 108th National  Day by the Royal Bhutanese Embassy,  Dhaka2

The Royal Bhutanese Embassy  in Dhaka celebrated  the 1o8th  National Day on 17 December 2015 at  the  Embassy  premises  with the  Bhutanese  community  including  Medical  Students, doctors undergoing post graduate studies and Bhutanese working in International and Regional Organizations in Dhaka.

The day was marked with the hoisting of the National Flag, lighting of butter lamp, and cutting of cake followed by screening of His Majesty’s address on BBS TV.

In the evening, the Embassy hosted a reception at the Amari Hotel in Dhaka. H.E. Mr. Obaidul Quader, Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, Government ofthe People’s Republic of Bangladesh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, the Hon’ble Minister expressed appreciation to Bhutan for being the first country to recognize Bangladesh as an independent country on 6 December 1971. He also expressed satisfaction with the friendship and close cooperation between the two countries at the bilateral, regional, and multilateral level.

The reception was well  attended  by political  leaders including ministers  and advisers to the Prime  Minister,  senior  government  officials,  members  of  the  diplomatic  corps,  business community, media personnel and other well-wishers.
