At the invitation of His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, King of Bhutan, Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge of the United Kingdom will be visiting Bhutan from 14 – 16 April 2016.

Their Royal Highnesses are accompanied by H.E. Sir Dominic Asquith, British High Commissioner to India and other senior officials of the British High Commission in New Delhi.

This is a first visit to Bhutan by Their Royal Highnesses, which symbolizes the ties of friendship between the Royal Families of Bhutan and the United Kingdom. Bhutan has also had the honor of welcoming His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales who visited Bhutan in February 1998 and His Royal Highness the Duke of York who visited in March 2010.

Upon arrival, Their Royal Highnesses will be received at Paro airport by Her Royal Highness Princess Chimi Yangzom Wangchuck. Their Royal Highnesses will be welcomed in a Chipdrel traditional ceremonial procession and receive an audience with His Majesty the King at Tashichhodzong on 14th April. His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen will also be hosting a private dinner in their honour at the Lingkana Palace.
