The 6th Round of Talks on the Bhutan-India Development Cooperation for the 10th FYP was held in New Delhi from 2-3 September 2010. H.E. Daw Penjo, Foreign Secretary led Bhutanese delegation comprising of senior officials of the Royal Government . The Indian delegation was led by Mr. Satish. C. Mehta, Joint Secretary (North), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

During the talks, the two governments reviewed the progress of the implementation of GoI assisted projects in Bhutan in the 10th Plan which includes a three-tier aid programe of Nu 20,000 million for Project-Tied Assistance (PTA), Nu 7000 million for Small Development Projects (SDP) and Nu 7000 million as Program Grant. So far the GoI has released Nu. 7308.752 million under the PTA, Nu. 393.900 million under the SDP and Nu. 3150 million under the Program Grant. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress made in the implementation of the Project under the PTA and SDP.

The Talks was held in a most candid and friendly environment in keeping with the spirit of the long standing friendly relations between the two countries.  Mr. Daw Penjo called on his counterpart, Mrs. Nirupama Rao, the Indian Foreign Secretary on 31 August 2010 and discussed may issues of mutual interests.
