Ambassador Rabgye conveyed the warm greetings of His Majesty the King and the Prime Minister of Bhutan, which was reciprocated by the President.

Kutshab said it was an honour to be accredited to Maldives with whom Bhutan enjoys close ties that has spanned over three decades. He said that the Royal Government is keen to further strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between Bhutan and the Maldives. Therefore, as Ambassador, he will work towards these goals.

Ambassador Rabgye later called on the Foreign Minister of Maldives and discussed ways and means to develop relations between the two countries in tourism and health sectors.  He also called on the Ambassador of Bangladesh and India in Male.

Ambassador Sonam T. Rabgye is the eleventh Ambassador of Bhutan to Maldives after establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1984.
