img_3137A 35-member delegation led by H.E. Gen. Tanasak Patimaprakorn, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand arrived in the country on 7 December 2016 to hold a photo exhibition titled ‘A Tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’ from 8 December 2016 at the Voluntary Artist’s Studio of Thimphu (VAST). The photo exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Culture of Thailand and the Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka. The Minister of Culture H.E. Mr. Vira Rojpojchanarat, Vice Minister of Culture H.E. Mrs. Cheweerat Kasetsoontorn and H.E. Miss Panpimon Suwannapongse, Ambassador of Thailand to Bhutan are also part of the delegation.

The Photo Exhibition was inaugurated on 8 December 2016 at the VAST studio and will be open for public till the end of December. HRH Ashi Chimi Yangzom Wangchuck, HRH Ashi Dechen Yangzom Wangchuck, HRH Ashi Kesang Choden Wangchuk and HRH Dasho Ugyen Jigme Wangchuck graced the inauguration of the Photo Exhibition.

Hon’ble Speaker of the National Assembly, the Foreign Minister, Minister for Education, the Home Minister, senior government officials and the representatives from the diplomatic mission and international organization in Thimphu was also present at the opening of the exhibition.

In their opening remarks, both the Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and the Hon’ble Foreign Minister of Bhutan highlighted the close relations between the Royal Families and growing bilateral ties between the two kingdoms. They also highlighted the achievements and contributions of His Late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej to the people of Thailand and the humankind in general. The exhibition is expected to allow the Bhutanese people to know more about His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the kingdom of Thailand.

The Photo Exhibition comprise of biography, Royal duties and Royal initiated projects of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej as well as special bond between Royal Families of the two countries.
