Japanese Ambassador to Bhutan calls on the Foreign Minister

img_3206 img_3210img_3198 H.E. Mr. Kenji Hiramatsu, Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan called on Foreign Minister Lyonpo Damcho Dorji on 23 December 2016 at the Gyalyong Tshokhang. The Ambassador was accompanied by the officials from the Embassy of Japan and a 3-member Japanese business delegation based in India.

During the visit Ambassador Hiramatsu was also granted an audience by His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo. The Ambassador also called on the Prime Minister on 23 December 2016.

The Ambassador and his delegation arrived Thimphu on 22 December 2016 to host a closing reception for the 30th Anniversary Celebrations on establishment of diplomatic relations between Bhutan and Japan. During the visit Ambassador Hiramatsu handed over four community patrol cars to the Royal Bhutan Police. The Ambassador also attended the ‘Japan and Bhutan 30th Anniversary Table Tennis Camp’ at the YDF Center during the visit.

Diplomatic relation between Bhutan and Japan was established in March 1986. To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, series of commemorative events were held in Bhutan and in Japan throughout this year.
