the 59th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo
on 11 November 2014.
Kutshab and staff of the Permanent Mission of Bhutan in New York celebrated the 59th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo by hosting a dinner at the Mission. Invitees included friends of Bhutan, office bearers of the Association of Bhutanese in New York, Bhutanese working at the United Nations and staff and spouses of the Mission. Read more
Brief Report on the Celebration of the 59th Birth Anniversary of His
Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo as a GNH Day on 11 November 2014 by
the Royal Bhutanese Embassy in Bangkok.
In the morning the day’s Celebration began at 0900 hrs at the Embassy with the National Flag Hoisting, Release (Tsethar of 108 birds) and Tshedrup prayers for the long life and well being of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo and cultural programme by the Embassy officials & staff and Bhutanese Students in Bangkok from various Universities. The Bhutanese community in Kolkata comprising the patients & their escorts, students and staff of the different agencies celebrated the birth anniversary of His Majesty the fourth King in the premise of the Royal Bhutan Consulate. The Consul General in his address highlighted the achievements of His Majesty during his 34 years of glorious reign. A short cultural program was presented followed a sumptuous lunch hosted by the Consul General for about 300 Bhutanese community who had gathered to celebrate the birth anniversary.
SECOND UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE
ON LANDLOCKED DEVELOPING COUNTRIES
The Second UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), which opened on 3rd November 2014 in Vienna, Austria concluded on the afternoon of 5th November 2014.
The Conference had participation of representatives from 129 governments of LLDCs, transit developing countries and donor countries, which included 7 at the level of Heads of State and Government and 40 at the Ministerial level. Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki-moon and the President of the 69th General Assembly, Mr. Sam Kutesa also participated in the conference along with representatives of UN and other international organizations and the private sector. His Excellency, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, President of the Republic of India, will be on a State Visit to Bhutan from 7-8 November 2014 at the invitation of His Majesty the King. The President will be accompanied by Mr. Manoj Sinha, Minister of State of Railways, Mr. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, member of the Rajya Sabha, Mr. Anil Shirole, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey and Mr. Gaurav Gogoi, members of the Lok Sabha. The Third Annual Bilateral Consultations between the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia will be held on 28th October 2014 in Thimphu. The Bhutanese delegation will be led by Mr. KingaSingye, Director General, Department of Bilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Australian delegation will be led by H.E. Mr. .Patrick Suckling, Ambassador of Australia to Bhutan.Read More
