The Embassy celebrates 60th Birth Anniversary of the His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo

img_7587 21-310x205The Royal Bhutanese Embassy, New Delhi joined the nation in celebrating the special occasion of the 60th Birth Anniversary of the His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singye Wangchuck on 11 November 2015 at the Royal Bhutanese Embassy Grounds. More than 500 Bhutanese including Bhutanese working in Delhi, Bhutanese students studying in and around Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Presidents of the Bhutanese Students Association from all over India participated in the celebrations.

The celebrations commenced at 8 AM with the hoisting of the national flag, singing of the national anthem and presenting of the guard of honour by the Royal Bhutan Army personnel stationed at the Royal Bhutanese Embassy.

The program then moved to the celebration grounds where the Royal Bhutanese Embassy family was joined by guests and students. The program started with the national anthm and Zhabten for His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo. Hon’ble Kutshab addressed the gathering on the importance of the occasion and the- -recorded address of His Majesty the King at the Changlimethang was broadcasted for the gathering.

This was followed by cultural programs including mask dance, dance by staff of the Royal Bhutanese Embassy and dance by Bhutanese students studying in various Universities in India. Celebrations also included Dzongkha speech competition and games.

The celebrations came to an end with all those present joining the nation at the Trashi Lebay to pray for the long life of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo.
