As the nation rejoices the auspicious occasion of the Royal Birth of Her Royal Highness the Gyalsem on 9 September 2023, the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Bhutan to the United Nations and the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Bhutan to the United States of America celebrated this happy occasion with fellow Bhutanese living in the United States. The Royal Birth celebration was graciously observed at Gulshan Terrace, 59-15, 37 Ave, Woodside, Queens, NY 11377, on 22 September 2023<\/span><\/p>\n

The occasion was graced by H.E. (Dr.) Lyonpo Tandi Dorji, Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade and H.E. Lyonpo Dechen Wangmo, Minister for Health of the Royal Government of Bhutan who was in New York to attend the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event\u00a0 began with the singing of the National anthem and offering of Marchang and lighting of butter lamps. To mark the joyous occasion of the Royal Birth, the floor joined H.E. Lyonpo in the cake cutting ceremony and various cultural programs followed by a dinner.\u00a0 H.E. Lyonpo Tandin Dorji shared ongoing transformation initiatives and developmental activities taking place back home and the government\u2019s future plans. The event was attended by hundreds of Bhutanese people residing in the United States of America.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
