Ambassador Tenzin R Wangchuk presented his credentials as the Permanent Representative of Bhutan to the United Nations to H.E. Mr. <\/span>Ant\u00f3nio Guterres, Secretary-General of the Un<\/span>ited Nations on 16 March 2026 at the UN Headquarters in New York. He is the 13th Permanent Representative of Bhutan to the United Nations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the ceremony, Kutshab called on the Secretary-General. He conveyed the warm greetings of His Majesty The King, the Prime Minister, and the people of Bhutan to the Secretary-General and reaffirmed Bhutan\u2019s commitment to multilateralism and the purposes and principles of the UN Charter.\u00a0 He also reiterated Bhutan\u2019s continued support for the work of the United Nations in addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable development, peace, and international cooperation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Secretary-General welcomed Ambassador Tenzin R Wangchuk and expressed appreciation for Bhutan\u2019s constructive engagement and contributions to the United Nations. He also reaffirmed the UN\u2019s continued partnership with Bhutan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kutshab <\/span>Tenzin R Wangchuk<\/span> joined the civil service of Bhutan in 1993.\u00a0 Since then, he has served in various capacities both within Bhutan and in Bhutan\u2019s diplomatic missions abroad. Most recently, he served as the Director-General of the Department of Economic and Tech Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade after completing his tenure as the Permanent Representative of Bhutan to the United Nations and other International Organisations in Geneva in September 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

He holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree from Sherubtse College, Bhutan, and a Master\u2019s from the University of Canberra, Australia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
