  1. Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW)<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Bhutan became the 171st party to the Convention on Chemical Weapons\u00a0 on 17 September 2005, 30 days after ratifying the Convention on 18 August 2005. The OPCW is the implementing body of the CWC. The Department of Multilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, RGoB is the National Authority for the Convention.<\/span><\/p>\n

    RBE Brussels is formally accredited as Bhutan\u2019s Permanent Representative to the organization.
    \n<\/span>Ambassador Tshering Gyaltshen Penjor is the Permanent Representative of Bhutan to the OPCW.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      As a member of the World Tourism Organization, the Tourism Council of Bhutan participates in the Annual General Assembly Meetings, Commission meetings for South Asia, Asia and the Pacific, UNWTO Executive Training programs, Theme based tourism conferences and seminars, Capacity building programs in tourism and hospitality organized by UNWTO.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      1. World Customs Organization (WCO)<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Bhutan has been a member of the World Customs Organization since 2002. <\/span>The World Customs Organization (WCO), established in 1952 as the Customs Co-operation Council (CCC) is an independent intergovernmental body whose mission is to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Customs administrations. Today, the WCO represents 183 Customs administrations across the globe, <\/span>three-quarters of which are developing countries, that<\/span> collectively process approximately 98% of world trade. <\/span>They are divided into six regions- (i) South America, North America, Central America and the Caribbean; (ii) Europe; (iii) Far East, South, and Southeast Asia, Australasia and the Pacific Islands; (iv) North of Africa, Near, and the Middle East; (v) West and Central Africa; and (vi) East and Southern Africa. <\/span>As the global center of Customs expertise, the WCO is the only international organization with competence in Customs matters and can rightly call itself the voice of the international Customs community.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Ambassador Sonam Tshong, deposited Bhutan\u2019s instrument of accession to the International Convention on the Simplification and Harmonization of Customs Procedures (Revised Kyoto Convention – RKC) on 15 September 2014, making the Kingdom of Bhutan the 96th Contracting Party to this Convention.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
