Dato’ Mr. Adam Htoon was appointed as the Honorary Consul of Bhutan in Victoria in June 2023. The Honorary Consulate officially opened on 05 October 2023 over a small ceremony attended by Charg\u00e9 d’affaires a.i. Mr. Jigme Tenzin, representative of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, close friends of Bhutan and representatives of the Bhutanese community in Victoria.<\/div>\n

Dato’ Adam Htoon is well known for his business acumen and entrepreneurial skills in building a successful airline and a telecommunication company in Southeast Asia. He has applied the same entrepreneurial zeal and continues to achieve success with his business ventures in Australia.<\/div>\n

His appointment is a significant development coming less than two years after the establishment of the Royal Bhutanese Embassy in Canberra in December 2021.<\/div>\n
