Namgyel and<br \/>\nAmbassador of Japan to Bhutan Keiichi Ono, signed a Grant Contract for<br \/>\nprocuring recycled fire engines. The signing ceremony took place at the Royal<br \/>\nBhutanese Embassy in New Delhi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Under this project, the Government of Japan will provide US $ 231,235 to the<br \/>\nFire and Rescue Service Division of the Royal Bhutan Police to procure recycled<br \/>\nfire engines to be used for fire and rescue services.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The funding is part of Japan\u2019s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Project (GGP)<br \/>\nscheme which supports local governments and Civil Society Organizations<br \/>\n(CSOs) in implementing small-scale development projects. Bhutan has benefited<br \/>\nfrom numerous GGP-supported initiatives over the years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Government of Japan has been generously supporting Bhutan in many<br \/>\ndifferent areas, such as education, agriculture, telecommunications, rural<br \/>\nelectrification, construction of bridges, building of schools, providing farm<br \/>\nmachinery, fire engines, police patrol cars, compactor trucks, ambulances and<br \/>\nmedical equipment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ambassador Namgyel expressed deep appreciation of the Royal Government of<br \/>\nBhutan to the Government of Japan for the continued support extended to<br \/>\nBhutan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Signing Ceremony for Grant Assistance for Grassroots Project (GGP) On 12th November 2024, Ambassador of Bhutan to Japan V.
