The officials of the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Bhutan to the United Nations and the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Bhutan to the United States joined the Bhutanese community in New York on Saturday, May 10, 2025, to observe the sacred occasion of Zhabdrung Kuchoe. The event was coordinated by the Pelden Drukpai Choetshog in New York.
Zhabdrung Kuchoe is one of the most significant days in the Bhutanese calendar. It commemorates the passing of Zhabdrung Rinpoche, the founder of Bhutan as a nation-state. The occasion was marked by traditional prayers and rituals led by the Bhutanese monastic body in New York, uniting members of the Bhutanese community in a spirit of devotion and cultural pride.
