Inauguration of Dzongkha & Culture classes at Alfred Deakin School for Bhutanese Children

Ambassador Sonam Tobgay at the inauguration of Dzongkha & Culture classes at Alfred Deakin School for Bhutanese Children living in the south side of Canberra on 27 July 2025. Dzongkha & Culture classes were initiated by the Bhutanese Buddhist & Cultural Center in Canberra by the Canberra Resident Lam & a group of 10 volunteers teachers since August 2024. Weekly classes are held for 2 hours every Sunday at 2 locations in Canberra. There is great enthusiasm by the Bhutanese children to attend these classes and an equal interest by the parents to enrol their children. So far, 201 children have enrolled for the classes.
