Ambassador Sonam Tobgay was invited by the Australian National University, as an alumnus of the university, to be the Guest Speaker to address the graduation ceremony of the 2020 and 2021 graduates of The College of Asia and the Pacific and The College of Arts and Social Sciences on 9th February 2022.
Ambassador Sonam Tobgay said the invitation to address the graduates was a great honor for Bhutan and for him personally. He recalled his days at the ANU and the relevance of his educational experiences that could be applied to his diplomatic work after graduation. He highlighted to the graduates the importance of embracing new and evolving knowledge, building and operating on the basis of trust in their careers, and rendering service beyond self.
Graduation ceremonies could not be held for the past two years due to the pandemic. This year’s graduation ceremony was held under strict COVID protocols.
