His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen and His Royal Highness the Gyalsey returned to Bhutan today after a three-day visit to India.

During the visit, His Majesty had met with the President, the Vice President, the Prime Minister of India and other senior Indian leaders.

This being the first visit of His Royal Highness the Gyalsey to India, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen introduced Gyalsey to the Indian leaders. The Indian leaders, in turn, extended a warm welcome to His Royal Highness the Gyalsey.

His Majesty the King had good exchanges of views with the Indian leaders on a wide range of subjects of mutual concern and interest, including the 50th Anniversary of formal diplomatic ties between Bhutan and India that will be celebrated next year.

The visit to India by Their Majesties and His Royal Highness the Gyalsey highlighted the exceptionally close relations between Bhutan and India and further strengthened the very close ties of friendship and understanding between the two countries.
