Secretary General of SAARC visits Bhutan from 18-20 May 2014

H. E. Mr. Arjun B. Thapa, Secretary General, SAARC is on an introductory visit to Bhutan from 18 to 20 May 2014. He is accompanied by his spouse and Ambassador Singye Dorji, Director Bhutan at SAARC Secretariat.

The Secretary General received an audience with His Majesty the King today. The Secretary General also called on the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Foreign Secretary and discussed matters relating to SAARC and other issues of regional interest.

H.E. Arjun B. Thapa of Nepal assumed the post of Secretary General on 12 March 2014 for a tenure of three years. He succeeded Mr. Ahmed Saleem of Maldives.
