The sixth biennial consultations between Bhutan and the European Union will be held in Thimphu on26 November 2015.

The biennial consultations provide a regular mechanism for the two sides to review all aspects of the bilateral relations, including development cooperation,between Bhutan and the EU.

The EU delegation will be lead by Ms. Maria Castillo Fernandez, Head of Division, European External Action Service of the European Commission. Mr. Kinga Singye, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will lead the Bhutanese delegation. The EU is an important development partner of Bhutan. For the current cycle of 2014-2020, the EU has committed Euro 42 million for Bhutan, which is the largest commitment of development assistance for Bhutan by the EU so far.
