On 9th April 2019 Ambassador Sonam T Rabgye, the Royal Bhutanese Embassy in Dhaka, handed over a letter on the Exchange of Notes signed by Hon’ble Foreign Minister Dr. Tandi Dorji and the Korean Ambassador to Bhutan H.E. Hu Kang-il in Bangladesh.
With the Exchange of Notes, a Program Office is expected to be established in Bhutan by September 2019 to serve as KOICA Liaison Office to coordinate and liaise with KOICA volunteers in Bhutan.
The initiative will go a long way in promoting mutual understanding and cooperation between Bhutan and the Republic of Korea.
