Notification

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to notify all agencies of the Royal Government that the Rules of Procedure for Treaty Making 2016 has been adopted by the Cabinet during the 96th Session of the Lhengye Zhungtshog held on 13 February 2016. The Rules of Procedure (RoP) is now in force and all agencies are required to follow the RoP for any treaty proposal to be undertaken by the agencies. Copy of Cabinet’s letter dated 04th March 2016 is attached HERE for kind reference.

MFA would like to inform that the RoP shall be applicable to any matter related to the initiation, formulation, negotiation, signing, amendment and implementation of treaties, agreements and other legal instruments to be concluded by the Royal Government, including any legal instrument concluded to seek membership in international organizations.
