Bhutan Establishes diplomatic relations with the Slovak Republic and the Republic of Turkey

The Kingdom of Bhutan established diplomatic relations with the Slovak Republic and the Republic of Turkey with effect from 26th September 2012.

The Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bhutan and the Slovak Republic was signed between H.E. Lyonpo Khandu Wangchuk, Minister-in-Charge for Foreign Affairs and H.E. Mr. Miroslav Lajcak, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Slovak Republic on 26th September 2012 at the United Nations in New York.

The Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bhutan and the Republic of Turkey was signed between H.E. Lyonpo Khandu Wangchuk, Minister In-Charge for Foreign Affairs and H.E. Mr. Ahmet Davutoglu, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey on 26th September 2012 at the Permanent Mission of Turkey to the United Nations in New York.

At the signing ceremony, they discussed and expressed the interest of their respective governments to cooperate closely in the bilateral and multilateral fields. In particular, they expressed the desire to further deepen the present level of cooperation at the United Nations and at other multilateral forums.
