Visit of the Foreign Secretary of India, Mr. Ranjan Mathai to Bhutan
The Foreign Secretary of India, Mr. Ranjan Mathai is on a three-day official visit to Bhutan from 15-17 May 2013. He is accompanied by Mr. Akhilesh Mishra, Joint Secretary (North), Ministry of External Affairs.
During the visit, Mr. Mathai will be received in audience by His Majesty the King. He will also call on Hon. Chief Advisor of the Interim Government. An official meeting with Foreign Secretary Yeshey Dorji is also scheduled. The visit is part of the regular exchanges of high-level visits between the two countries.

The Permanent Representative of Bhutan to the United Nations Office in Geneva, H.E. Mr. Dawa Penjo presented his letter of credence to the World Food Programme, the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in Rome, Italy last week, accrediting him as the Permanent Representative of Bhutan to these organisations.
He met with the Ms. Ertharin Cousin, Executive Director of the WFP, Mr. Jose Garziano da Silva, Director-General of the FAO and senior officials of IFAD and held meaningful discussion on strengthening the cooperation between Bhutan and the organisations.
H.E. Mr. Dawa Penjo is also the Ambassador of Bhutan to Switzerland and Austria.
Residency Scholarship Announcement
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to inform the general public that the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture will be organizing and funding an “Artist in Residence” programme. Within this programme, 50 residency-scholarships for Vienna, Austria are being made available to artists, writers, composers, curators and art educators for the year 2014.The program is designed to offer an opportunity to artists to familiarize themselves with Austrian art and culture and to establish contacts with Austrian creative artists.

New arrangements for visitor and business visitor visas for Australia from 23 March 2013
This is to kindly inform the Bhutanese travelling to Australia on the changes introduced by the Government of Australia on the new visa forms. From 23 March 2013, the below offshore processed subclasses will be repealed and DIAC will not accept new applications for the following visas:
