The Fourth Bhutan-India Development Cooperation Talks of the 11th Five Year Plan will be held in New Delhi, India on 2nd September, 2015. A 12 member Bhutanese delegation led by Foreign Secretary Tshering Dorji and comprising of senior RGoB officials will leave for New Delhi, India on 1st September 2015. The 23rd Round of Boundary talks between the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China will be held in Thimphu on 24 August 2015. The 11-member Chinese delegation led by H.E. Mr. Liu Zhenmin, Vice Foreign Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs will arrive in Bhutan on 23 August 2015. Read more
The Annual Performance Agreement between the Minister and the Secretary as well as between the Secretary and the heads of different Departments was signed on 14th August 2015 in a ceremony conducted at the Gyalyong Tshokhang. This is the first time such an agreement has been signed at the Department level in the Ministry. The APAs are expected to help each Department work towards achieving the goals identified by the Ministry for the fiscal year 2015-2016 in its Ministerial APA. Agreements between the Ministry and the different Embassies & Missions abroad were also signed on the same day.
The newly appointed Foreign Minister, Lyonpo Damcho Dorji will be joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, 2nd August 2015.
Lyonpo will be received at the Gyalyong Tshokhang by the officers and staff of Ministry of Foreign Affairs at 0900 Hours. There will be Zhugdrel Phuensum Tshogpai Tendrel (traditional welcome ceremony) after which the Hon’ble Minister will sign the Joining Order.Readmore
